Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP advised Crest Nicholson Properties Plc following its appointment by Dacorum Borough Council to build a new 320,000 sq ft shopping centre and provided advice throughout the development to both Crest Nicholson and their funding partner, clients of Arlington Investors including letting the scheme and advice on the funding.

Following the submission, in competition, of design and financial proposals Crest Nicholson Properties was appointed by Dacorum Borough Council to carry out the development of the major remaining strategic site in Hemel Hempstead.

The scheme comprises a department store, 20 retail units together with restaurants and other A3 users, 355 space car park, 110 bedroom hotel and residential accommodation.

The scheme opened in October 2005 and tenants signed include Debenhams for the department store, Next, H & M , Monsoon, HMV, Clintons Cards, Peacocks, the Link, TK Maxx, Starbucks and Bathstore.com, with Premier Travel Inn taking the hotel.  A new restaurant quarter for the town centre has been created with lettings to Pizza Express, Tootsies and Aroma.
