Primark

Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP are instructed by Associated British Foods to act on their behalf to appeal against the 2005 Rating assessments of their Primark Stores located in South Wales and the South West.

We had previously acted on behalf of ABF on the 2000 Rating List whereby we appealed against 12 of their Primark stores in South Wales and the South West which totalled a rateable value of £2,018,250.  After negotiations with the Valuation Officer we agreed a total rateable value of £1,819,150, a saving of £192,100.

We have agreed a number of assessments in the 2005 Rating List,  with others currently in negotiation.

For example, 82-92 The Horsefair, Bristol was entered into the Rating List with a rateable value of £229,000.  Following our negotiations with the Valuation Officer we agreed a rateable value of £200,000 providing a reduction of £29,000.  This equates to a saving of circa £58,000 over the five year period of the rating list.

Client:  Associated British Foods (Primark)
