Acquisitions for COS

Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP advised H & M  on the acquisition of a new flagship store for its upmarket mens' and womenswear chain ‘COS’ (collection of style) in The Bullring, Birmingham, the retailer's first store to be located out of London.

COS is a wholly owned subsidiary of H & M Hennes & Mauritz UK Ltd and introduces a new fashion concept for both 'men and women providing the design flair and quality of high fashion at ground level prices'.  COS's first store opened in Regent Street, London and the retailer now has 16 across Europe with stores in Westfield Shopping Centre and Long Acre, Covent Garden.  Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP's retail team also advised on the acquisition of the Regent Street and Long Acre stores.

The new 6,667 sq ft store provides COS with a prominent unit trading on ground and first floor level.  Nearby traders include Selfridges, French Connection, Reiss, Karen Millen and Jane Norman.  COS has acquired the premises on a new 10 year lease.
