Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP's London office advised H & M Hennes Mauritz UK Ltd on the acquisition of a new store located in Monks Cross Shopping Park, located less than a mile from York's City Centre.
Monks Cross Shopping Park is one of the largest recognised fashion parks in the UK and retailers include Next, Top Shop/Top Man, River Island, New Look, Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Monsoon and Boots and H & M had been looking to move to the centre for several years but had to wait for a large enough store.
H & M has acquired Unit 13 on a new 10 year lease and the new store which is due to open later this month will provide a ground floor sales area of 12,640 sq ft with a mezzanine of 3,840 sq ft, which H & M are in the process of extending to create further space.
H&M already has a branch in Spurriergate, York, but this will continue to trade in tandem to the new store.
Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP advised H &M Hennes Mauritz UK Limited and Morgan Williams advised The Monks Cross Shopping Park Trust, the owners of Monks Cross.
