The Swedish fashion retailer has been waiting to move from its two existing units into a larger store.
Zavvi, the music retailer that formerly traded as Virgin Megastore, went into administration before Christmas. Its store had been temporarily trading as Head, a music retailer founded by former Zavvi directors.
H&M has taken the three units, which include a 6,329 sq ft mezzanine, on the lower and upper levels of the centre on a 15-year lease with a 10-year break at around £1.5m a year. It is understood that it received more than six months’ rent free.
The store will open in September. H&M will relocate from one of the existing stores this autumn and from the other in 2010.
Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP advised H&M; DTZ acted for Bluewater.
