Hartnell Taylor Cook’s Property and Asset Management team is appointed to manage The Savoy Estate, London on behalf of The Duchy of Lancaster after initially being appointed to manage 1 Lancaster Place as part of the Brettenham House management instruction.
The team is responsible for the management of The Duchy’s Savoy Estate which is bounded to the north and south by The Strand and the Embankment respectively and to the west and east by The Savoy Hotel and Somerset House and comprises both retail and office accommodation. The estate also includes The Queen’s Chapel of Savoy. The Duchy of Lancaster is a private estate owned by Her Majesty the Queen and is held separate to all other Crown possessions. As a historic organisation the continuous challenge for the team is to ensure the portfolio is future proofed sustainably and continues to deliver enhanced revenue.
The management strategy that has been put in place ensures an appropriate balance is provided between the commitments to the Duchy’s tenants and to the long term sustainability of the property assets, in particular to its historic heritage, and delivered in accordance to the values and reputation of The Duchy of Lancaster. The team meets with the management team at The Duchy of Lancaster regularly to review the multi-let portfolio to identify any threats, needs or opportunities to secure and enhance the estate. The advising team includes asset management, facilities management, building consultancy and rating advice.
HTC is privileged to work on such a unique portfolio of assets on this prestigious swathe of Central London land. Having worked on the estate for a number of years the relationship built with the Duchy of Lancaster estate team is one of trust to help the organisation future proof its assets for future generations as well as deliver long term sustainable revenue growth.
