Our news: Bristol’s tallest office becomes national leader in the ‘cycle to work’ revolution

01 July 2021 – We are delighted to announce that we have been appointed joint agent, alongside Knight Frank and JLL, on a major refurbishment of Bristol’s tallest office building, Castlemead.

The refurbishment creates unparalleled occupier amenities that cater to tenants growing demands for flexibility, quality and sustainability, as the office now boasts a 3,000 sq. ft glass reception with open-plan, modern meeting spaces and a world-class cycling facility.

The basement has been transformed into a vintage Tour de France themed micro-mobility hub, with facilities including 341 cycle parking spaces, four Brompton hire bikes, 18 new showers and changing rooms, 400 lockers, and 12 EV chargers. The facilities are of such a high standard that CyclingScore – the leading certification body for cycling facilities – has had to devise a new platinum category to award the building with a world-first 100 per cent rating.

The office is also positioned adjacent to Cabot Circus and Broadmead shopping areas, providing its future occupiers with access to a wide range of shops and eating destinations only a short walk from the office.

Commenting on the refurbishment, Chris Grazier, Partner in our office agency team, said:

“This really is a landmark office. That CyclingScore had to devise a brand-new category to accredit such a high-quality building is testament to its unique approach to post-pandemic tenant demand. Not only will it support Bristol’s eco-friendly vision in years to come, but it adds top-draw, environmentally friendly stock to the market. Other cities in the UK should take stock of Bristol’s innovative approach, and we’re delighted to have been appointed to find the ideal tenants.”

We look forward to welcoming tenants into this state-of-the-art office building in the near future.
